J.W.HOOKENS 1965 - 2010

It's with much regret and I'm very sorry to say that J.W.Hookens died on the 30th December 2010 at 2.45 pm from the brain tumor he had so bravely being fighting these past few months. He fought to the end with great spirit, dignity and drive! He stayed positive to the end with what energy he had, he managed to achieve a very personal set of musical works, under the name of J.Hookens, that he wanted in the short space of time he had left to him! For that his family and I are very grateful. Anyone who met or came into contact with J knows that he was truly one of a kind and the energy and drive he had was equal to 3 people. Here at Urbcom we'll try to keep his legacy alive in spirit and promotion of what he achieved musically with Jerico One>, The Dielectric but also the leading and pivotal role he played in setting up and running Urbcom.
On a personal note I'd like to thank everyone who showed their support to J over these last few months either directly or via myspace on our site or Jerico One> or the J.Hookens pages. All your messages were much appreciated by J and helped him greatly in the difficult times he faced.

J will be sadly missed by his family and friends and a great hole is left in all our lives. We trying to come to come to terms and deal with what has happened but the best way to honour J is to remember to his work /life and achievements.

Obviously it's early days at the moment and Urbcom's future direction is undecided but it will be here in 2011 and we plan to release a best of JERICO ONE> this year to celebrate J's music and life! There will be further updates soon and a tribute to J will be here on our URBCOM.NET site.

Born out of the ashes of one of the most significant bands on the Hungarian industrial scene VACUUM in 1992.
